MomsGuide.com Forms Board of Advisors with Recognized Leaders from Internet, Consumer Brand, and Advertising Companies

Marblehead, MA, May 25, 2000 - MomsGuide.com has announced the formation of its Board of Advisors to assist the integrated media brand in becoming a dominant source for sports-moms on the web and other media. MomsGuide.com will debut on the web in August of 2000 with the “Mom’s Guide to Sports” brand, a content, community and e-commerce site for soccer moms. Related print publications and broadcast productions are also in the works for Mom’s Guide to Sports.

Joining the advisor board are Beth VanStory, D’Anne Hurd, Kathy O’Brien, and Lance Jensen. “For what our business objectives are for MomsGuide.com, we couldn’t ask for a better group of people to assist our company,” said John Rourke, founder of MomsGuide.com. “We’re privileged to have them advise our team on all matters related to this venture,” he added.

Beth VanStory is president of iMotors.com of San Francisco, California. The company is the leader in selling used cars on the internet and has investors from Vulcan Ventures and Oak Capital Partners among others. Beth joined iMotors from Office Depot, where she was Vice President in charge of OfficeDepot.com, which she launched and led to an award-winning successful e-commerce site. Before Office Depot, Beth led Weather.com for The Weather Channel, where she was Vice President and General Manager of New Media. Before the Internet blossomed, she was working in the early Bell Atlantic’s Tele-TV venture, and was also at MCI Communications.

D’Anne Hurd is Chief Financial Officer and General Counsel of NaviPath, a CMGI company (NASDAQ: CMGI) based in Andover, Massachusetts. D’Anne has 27 years experience in executive-level management, including senior finance positions at GTE Corporation and PepsiCo, Inc. where she was responsible for their global cash management and banking relationships. For seven years, D’Anne was an associate with the Boston law firm Burns & Levinson, advising private and public clients on all aspects of corporate finance and securities law including strategic partnerships, intellectual property, venture capital financing, mergers and acquisitions and initial public offerings. Prior to joining NaviPath, D’Anne was CFO and General Counsel for Cambridge, Massachusetts-based SmartRoute Systems, Inc., a provider of real-time traffic content. D’Anne also previously served as Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at MediSense, Inc., a medical products company, now a division of Abbott Laboratories.

Kathy O’Brien is a Group Brand Manager at Unilever HPC North America, one of the world’s largest consumer package goods companies with brands like Dove, Lipton, Calvin Klein, and Beyers Ice Cream. Throughout her career at Unilever she has held numerous senior positions in both sales and marketing. She is currently responsible for Caress, Suave Body Wash and Hand Liquid and Vaseline Intensive Care Bath, and she recently launched a highly successful line of bath and body products that have quickly become the top selling experiential products in mass merchant retailers in the United States. Kathy is a frequent speaker on consumer brand markets and business strategies.

Lance Jensen is president and co-founder of Modernista!, a Boston-based branding and advertising agency formed in January of this year. Major brands, such as MTV and The Travel Channel, have quickly sought the agency’s creative services. Prior to forming Modernista!, Lance was Executive Vice President and Group Creative Director at Arnold Communications, where he was responsible for the highly successful launch of the New Beetle in 1998, a campaign that virtually swept every national and international awards show last year. Lance’s work has been named the year’s best by Ad Age Magazine in 1995, 1997, and 1998. The country first got a taste of his creative work in the infamous Volkswagen television commercial with two believable characters, picking up a discarded chair in their Jetta, only to discard it due to its smell, all the while the song “Da-Da-Da” by the obscure German band Trio played in the background.
